Welcome to Los Gatos

Los Gatos is a charming town that nestles up to the southwest side of San Jose. Its name, which translates literally to “the cats”, harkens back to mountain lions that used to roam the area, and is memorialized in the form of cat statues throughout the town. It offers a highly walkable shopping district covering many blocks and filled with boutiques, everyday fare as well as fine dining, and some fun spots for nightlife. With a population well under 50,000 residents, yet a location within Silicon Valley, Los Gatos strives to retain a lovely balance between the slower pace of a smaller town and the high energy of one of the most dynamic and productive regions in the world. The town has held onto many of its original Victorian-era buildings and prides itself on its history and significant buildings such as the Los Gatos High School. Open space is also prized by residents of the town: The Los Gatos Creek Trail is a beloved park that stretches for 9.7 miles through Los Gatos as well as adjacent Campbell, San Jose, and Santa Clara County areas. It welcomes walkers, joggers, and bicyclists along with those looking to spend time relaxing or watching children play on the manicured park lawns and play areas. Los Gatos homes stretch from the neighborhoods adjacent to Highway 17 up into the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. This small and special community prides itself on being more exclusive than neighboring San Jose, and its housing prices reflect that fact.
